So let’s get started with these promotional ideas guaranteed to boost your business.
1. Get into online marketing.
This is a broad field but the things you should focus on are having a website to begin with, then email marketing, and of course social media marketing. You definitely need your own website because people nowadays are turning to the internet to get information for what they need. Email marketing is collecting the emails of people and connecting with them and occasionally sending out offers. And lastly, social media is a powerful medium to interact with your customers and show them what you have to offer.
2. Hand out flyers.
I know this is an old technique but printing flyers is very cheap. You just need to have a staff member (or yourself) stand in front of the store or at a corner and give people your flyers. Just make sure each print out has everything a customer would need to learn about your business and where or how to contact you in case they have a question. If you have the money, a glossy and colorful flyer is best but if not, a photocopying will do just fine.
3. Try fabric printing.
Think street banners and flags, backdrops, chair slips, and buntings. Fabric printing is a great way to advertise your business and just by placing one in front of your store will surely get the attention of passersby.
4. Send out a press release.
Did you just open your store? Do you have a new product or service? Find out what’s newsworthy about your business and write a press release about it. Send it out to your local newspapers, specialty magazines and even to online news outlets or bloggers. People love to share news and if yours is really worth publishing, you will get a great mileage out of a single press release.
5. Sponsor a local event.
Sponsoring an event will get your business exposed to a lot of people who share the same interests. Example of these events are concerts, stage plays, marathons, and fund-raising movements. This is a good way to zero in on your prospective customers while in a way, give back to the community.
6. Attend trade shows or exhibits.
You don’t need a huge booth to take a part in a trade show. Even a small spot with just a chair and a table is often enough to introduce your business. Make sure you collect business cards and device a strategy to later reach out to them to offer your products or services.
7. Hold a photo contest.
With about everybody having a phone with a camera, we’re all happy photo snappers. Just think about all the photos being shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You can hold a photo contest and come up with a concept that will target the kind of customers you are looking for. It’s an effective way to get people talking about your business.
